PROPOSAL FOR THE POSITION OF PARALEGAL TO THE MAGISTRATES OF SELNAR

This proposal outlines the establishment of a dedicated Paralegal position to enhance the efficiency and support provided to the Magistrates of Selnar.

PROPOSED WORK COMMITMENT:

I am proposing a commitment of approximately 3 hours per day, with a maximum of about 15 hours per week, to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

This Paralegal would provide direct support to all current Magistrates of Selnar, including:

PROPOSED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this Paralegal position would encompass, but not be limited to, the following key areas:

• Case Management: Systematically organizing and maintaining all legal documents, client files, and evidence. This includes assisting in managing Magistrate caseloads, scheduling appointments, and coordinating communication among all involved parties in legal matters.

• Legal Research: Conducting thorough investigations and gathering essential facts for cases, as well as researching relevant laws and historical court decisions to provide comprehensive support.

• Document Preparation: Drafting a wide array of legal documents and files, ensuring precise formatting and proper filing in accordance with established protocols.

• Client Interaction: Facilitating direct communication with clients, witnesses, and other professionals to gather information and clarify case details, always maintaining discretion and adherence to established legal boundaries.

• Trial Preparation: Assisting in the meticulous organization of schedules for Magistrates, Advocates, and other parties crucial to trial proceedings.

• Meeting Coordination & Minutes: Attending High Council meetings with the High Magistrate to accurately record minutes and assist with any assigned duties. Attending weekly/monthly Magistrates' meetings to provide reports on current cases and maintain comprehensive minutes. Additionally, attending other meetings deemed beneficial by the Magistrates, such as interviewing free women or overseeing their swearing-in to the Home Stone.

• Administrative Support: Tracking Magistrate leave and absences, documenting inter-caste interactions, and performing any additional administrative duties deemed valuable to the efficient operation of the Magistrates' functions.

PROPOSED OFFICE SPACE:

A dedicated office space is requested for the Paralegal, sufficient to accommodate essential office furniture (e.g., desk, chair, filing cabinets, and communication devices like a bell and online indicator), with an estimated prim allowance of 50.

PROPOSED ACCESS:

• Mailbox Access: Full access to designated mailboxes to check and distribute correspondence each morning.

• File Access: Comprehensive access to all relevant case files for the purpose of maintaining and working on documentation. Files would be securely relocated to the Paralegal's designated desk area for efficient management.
